Tahmela’s Villa, a late 19th century beauty on the shores of Pyhäjärvi is a low-threshold cultural centre open to everyone and managed by the Pirkanmaa Building Heritage Association.
The Villa’s regular events include music evenings, author visits, book launches, concerts, theatre performances and story trails in the surroundings.
The Villa’s gallery has monthly changing art exhibitions. With one visit you can enjoy 3 different exhibitions. Exhibitions are selected annually.
The Villa’s library room is operated by Pispala library association, and it offers almost 800 books for readers.
Tahmela’s Villa café is a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the place and its surroundings. Enjoy tasty vegetarian soups and savoury or sweet snacks. Sunday’s international pop-up chefs (immigrants) bring treats from all over the world to the Villa.
The Villa’s saunas are heated up on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. We are part of the Tampere’s sauna capital network. Every second week traditional sauna services available on Tuesday sauna shifts.
There are two saunas at Tahmela Villa, located by the shores of Pyhäjärvi lake in Tampere. Both saunas have a wood heated stove, so your sauna experience will be authentic! And to top it up you can have a dip in the lake all year round. In the winter we make sure the hole in the ice is open and safe for extreme sauna enthusiasts. Welcome to Tahmela Villa! Note the mixed or women only hours!
